My father was admitted to hospital nearly 4 months ago. He has been diagnosed with dementia and sectioned under the mental health act. My mother was diagnosed with dementia 2 years ago. She was admitted to hospital last Tuesday and yesterday sectioned under the mental health act. As their daughter (only child) I am both their nominated visitor and their power of attorney. There are no other relatives allowed to visit due to covid restrictions and it is so difficult. What are your coping mechanisms?
I have never heard of this before.
I have no coping mechanisms because I didn't have to go thru COVID with a parent or relative. Where I live visitors make appointments. Do your parents realize that they have no visitors?
Just need to go with the flow I guess. Be happy they are safe and you won't have that to worry about. Its not ur fault that COVID happened. Its what it is and just need to work around it.
I wish you peace as you move forward.
