Ask ahead, Football. Or better yet, see an elder law attorney.
Know to start out with, getting POA involves someone GIVING you it, requesting that you act for them. You can only be appointed by a competent adult who wishes you to be his or her POA.

Happy to answer any specific question you have here.
You can also be helped by typing into internet the question: POA state of ______________. and type in your state.

Do not use online forms. Most banks won't accept them. It is important a POA e written up by an attorney and designed to do what your principal (the person assigning you POA) wishes to accomplist through this legal document.

"We" can help you with ideas or where to begin but this is a Forum of Caregivers from all around the world.
"We" can not help start the ball rolling with POA for that you would be best to talk to an Elder Care Attorney in your area. Almost any attorney that handles Family law could do this but if you are dealing with problems that have to do with older people an Elder Care Attorney might be your best bet as they are more used to dealing with things like Medicare, Medicaid, Guardianship, and sometimes even Veterans issues.
