Dear Sir/Madam,When I choose my supplemental insurance plan this year, how will I know which plan covers home health care and/or how much it covers?Thank you.

Find Care & Housing
I suggest you contact your County Office of Aging. They know what companys write policies in your State. Once you know that, then you compare and pick the one that will cover your needs.

There is Traditional Medicare and then the suppliment.
There are Medicare Advantages
If not on Medicare yet, they can help u or point you in the right direction.
There are co-pays and deductables that have to be met. Some deductables are higher than others. All this will be explained to you.

This is open enrollment so call now.

We are an international group of folks concerned with caregiving and aging, not any kind of agency or experts. From my personal knowledge as someone with a Medicare supplement insurance plan, supplement plans cover the same things original Medicare does, not any more or less; if Medicare provides 80% coverage or something, e.g., a doctor's visit, then the supplement will pay the other 20%. Medicare will cover home health care only in very limited circumstances, and only where medically necessary. Medicare will not cover what is considered "custodial care," such as cooking, daily help with bathing and dressing, etc. No supplement plan will cover anything that Medicare does not cover. This is a caregiver support forum and not an insurance agency.
You can go online and find out which supplemental plans cover what, or call your local insurance agent to discuss your options.
