Yes, we’ve done all that. No dementia dx , she has macular degeneration and sees shadows sometimes. Mostly she just knows he’s there. It helps when people are around. It’s so unfair. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like that.

This isn't eye disease. This may be hallucinations due to Lewy's dementia or Parkinson's.
It's time for mom to go to her MD. Start with a physical and a urine check. Then on to neuro-psyc.
Hallucinations due to dementia are VERY real and my brother, with his Lewy's could tell me in detail about his "garden party" outside his window, even to dress and hairstyle and the pool he didn't have.

Time for a checkup.

How is your mom’s heart? Some heart conditions like a murmur or an arrhythmia can feel like shaking. I’d have that checked along with uti, vision problems and cognitive decline. Your mom could have several things going on at once which is more the rule than the exception as people age.

Angie63, welcome to the forum. Has your Mom been tested for an Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)? UTI's can cause an older person to see things that aren't there.

I remember when my Dad was seeing ants crawling up the wall and in his food. His caregiver suggested maybe my Dad had an UTI, so I gave the ok for Dad to go to urgent care and be tested for an UTI. Sure enough, he had it. The ants started to disappear after the meds started to kick in.

Yes, as it's very common with someone suffering from dementia.
Has your mom been tested for dementia yet? If not please do so, so you know exactly what you're dealing with.

You put this question under the Vision and Eye Disease category, but it sounds like more of a dementia issue, especially the shaking chair part. People with vision issues can see odd things, perhaps, but saying that someone is shaking her chair does not fit into the Vision category. Has mom been tested for cognitive decline?
