Do I pick up my family of 4 and move from atl to ny because my grandmother who is 88 yrs old refuses to move to live with us? I am so worried about her. My mom passed in May and since then she is living alone. I am the only child. She has a nurses aide for now but soon they will be gone. She is pretty independent but she has diabetes and is just getting over a bout of pneumonia. I closed down my daycare business and parents want me to start again...Do i drop everything and go back to ny?? what is the right thing to do?

If she is unable to live alone--see about a nursing home or assisted living.
Don't move, you will resent her for such a drastic change.

Would you be able to just plan on visiting for now to asses how things are and if she can not live alone could she move closer and be in a nursing home near all of you-she might not like it but she needs to be where you are can take part in her future -NY is a hard place to live our wonderful Gov. is no friend of the disabled even though he is disabled himself and is trying to close down nursing homes and hospitals- I would carefully consider what is best for you and your family.

We used to live in NY so I know it not easy. We would probably be able to make more money there. But i am finally comfortable in Atlanta. We have been going back and forth. I have travled 3 times since May to NY. I was just reading a post on line it Says: We should never allow the cares of the world to overshadow the things that are most important—serving God through serving people, especially the people in our own families. The Bible says, "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth" (Ephesians 6:2-3). Thank you for your comments.. i am so conflicted right now. Myhead hurts.
